NuvaRing Lawsuit History

Even though NuvaRing has been on the market since 2001, it is only recently that this device has caused lawsuits against the manufacturer, Organon. Robert Bozicev of New Jersey filed the first lawsuit against NuvaRing in March of 2008 after his wife died from using the device in December 2007.

At 32 years of age, Bozicev’s wife, Jackie Kelly Bozicev, experienced a pulmonary embolism which led to fatal, severe seizures. Jackie was allegedly in optimal health before using NuvaRing, according to her husband, so it follows that the device is responsible for her death.

Bozicev is seeking compensation from Organon for their careless and irresponsible supply of this device. The lawsuit claims that Organon was aware of the dangers of using NuvaRing and did not warn the FDA or the public of them.

Since March of 2008, 50 other plaintiffs have filed claims against Organon after their use of NuvaRing. These cases are either still being resolved or their results are not being made known to the public.
