Proctor & Gamble Recall Nasal Spray Product

Proctor & Gamble announced in late June of 2004 that it was initiating a recall of a 4-Hour Nasal Decongestant Spray. The nasal spray had been distributed across the United States. The voluntary recall was reported in an FDA Safety Report article. Proctor & Gamble began the recall after making a discovery that the product had potential to expire before the expiration date stamped on its packaging. The article reports that the recall “is not a result of consumer complaints.”

All existing lots of the VasoSpray 4 Hour Nasal Spray by Sinex and its earlier counterparts produced before June 2009 - Sinex Nasal Spray and Ultra Fine Mist - with expiration dates before June 2013 have been recalled. Consumers are advised to discard the products and contact Proctor & Gamble for refunds or replacement coupons.

Also, customers who experienced any instances of illness, adverse reactions or side effects in conjunction with using the recalled nasal sprays are advised to report to the FDA’s MedWatch Program and a physician.

The article specifically mentions that customers should discard the recalled products in packages bearing the following UPC codes: 3 23900 00082 7, 3 23900 00082 7, and 3 23900 00085 8. Check all products to be sure of their safety.
